Thanksgiving Menu 2012

The day is almost here!! The day where we get to eat lots of turkey and pumpkin pie and sweet potatoes and raspberry pretzel salad! A day dedicated to eating yummy food and not just eating it...eating WAY too much of it!!

Oh, and it's also a day to be grateful for what we have, right?

I have to be honest. I'm grateful for food. I love how it brings people together. Whenever there is a birthday there is a cake! New Year's always has amazing appetizers. Date night with the hubs is always about where we want to eat dinner! Food is a great way to create memories and happiness. That's why I love it so much! Oh, and it tastes good too!

Here is a list of recipes that we Girls love and cherish. Some are newfound favorites, some are family traditions on Thanksgiving. We hope you find one or two or several that you love too!

Herbed Cornbread and Bacon Stuffing

You know the saying "Bacon makes everything better"? It's true. And you are making a homemade, aromatic, amazing stuffing recipe that can be passed down to your children! You will never make that boxed stuff again!

Loaded Baked Sweet Potatoes

I first had a loaded baked sweet potato at Texas Roadhouse about 5 years ago and it changed my life forever!! Forget the boring sweet potatoes covered in marshmallows. This is WAY better. Think of it as Thanksgiving sweet potatoes...all grown up. And yummy.

Raspberry Pretzel Salad

Seriously...I can't even type the name without drooling. I love this salad! It's not even really a salad...it's more like a casserole? No...like a dessert bar that you eat with dinner. Dessert with dinner? Yes please! This has the creamy factor, the sweet factor, and the salty factor. Like the trifecta of all things wonderful! You HAVE to try this recipe. It is a family tradition to make on Easter and Thanksgiving...and I crave it. In fact, this recipe may be why I love Thanksgiving so much!

Creamy Berry Cheesecake Salad

This will quickly become a family favorite! We love it in the summer with a BBQ, and it will easily fit right into your Thanksgiving dinner menu as well. Or serve it as a refreshing and healthier option for dessert. Because, you know, some of us are trying to watch our girlish figure!

Pumpkin Cupcakes with Spiced Caramel Cream Cheese Frosting

These cupcakes are a nice break from traditional pumpkin pie! They are also something you can bake up and deliver to friends and neighbors for the holiday weekend! Easy and delicious!

Pumpkin Pie Dip

Perfect as an appetizer before Thanksgiving Dinner or as a snack after everyone is done! Easy to whip up the day before Thanksgiving too!

Hopefully you find something here to help make your Thanksgiving Day merrier! Have a great holiday weekend everyone! I know we will!!
